Dose everyone know what Week of the Young Child is?
The purpose of the Week of the Young Child™ is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.
Unfortunately Early Childhood Education is often overlooked. Often I hear how easy my job must be or it can't be hard staying home all day "babysitting". Yes, it is easy ensuring the safety of multi little humans for 11 hours a day. Yes, it is easy knowing each of their needs and meeting them so they know they are loved and have the freedom grow in a positive and safe environment. Yes, it is easy spending my extra time shopping, writing lessons plans, and cleaning to maintain a quality child care program. This is by far not an easy job but it is very rewarding. My program is participating in Week of the Young Child to shed some light on the importance families, providers, and children have in building a strong foundation for our early learners. I don't need praise nor do I wan't it.

I simply want those reading this to understanding the difficult job parents have in shaping their young children. That providers have a difficult job in establishing and maintaining quality care. And also, that children have a difficult job learning new skills and lessons most of us still struggle with. Appreciate Early Childhood Education! Thank you (:
